School Grounds
Manx BirdLife is the wildlife conservation charity working to protect the Isle of Man’s wild birds and the habitats on which they depend. To find out more about us, visit Manx BirdLife - Nature. For generations.
Offering a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, our education programme is designed to inspire young people to discover and cherish the Island’s wildlife, and to consider their role as future stewards of our natural environment.
School grounds are a great setting for seeing and learning about birds. They harbour the potential for improving and creating habitats for wildlife. We can help your young people to discover the wildlife in their school grounds through birdwatches and bug hunts and to improve their school grounds for wildlife with an audit, practical advice, and habitat-creation activities.
To learn more about how we can assist your school, class or youth group activities and studies, visit http://manxbirdlife.im/education-programme/ or email education@manxbirdlife.im with the topics you would like help with.
The RSPB Big Schools’ Birdwatch (rspb.org.uk) is a great way to engage your young people with the wild birds and habitats in their school grounds.
